Q: Why are you going to win the THQ World Supercross GP championship?
Huffman: Why am I going to win it? Because I have gone from having a commanding lead to having a badly injured ankle and having the series tied. I have had the lead for a long time, so I do not want to give it up easily.
Q: What does it mean to win the championship?
Huffman: To have that title is awesome. The title is huge. It will help my career and it has been exciting to be in the points chase for the championship and there is a lot of positive that can come from this. Obviously the money is huge. That is key, but I really think this will help my career.
Q: What is your strategy for the rest of the season?
Huffman: I want to continue getting the great starts that I have been getting. Hopefully, now that we have the weekend off, I can let my ankle heal and get back to 100% for the last three races. I want to keep running up front and stay up there as long as possible. I want to win the title.
Q: Tell me why Heath Voss is not going to win the championship?
Huffman: Well, the biggest reason that he has been able to creep up on me is because I have injured my ankle. I have had some bad races and because of that I am not at 100%. Like I said, I have the weekend off and I will hopefully be able to get back to 100%. I think if I am at my best it will be the same as it was at the start of the season when I was beating him on consistent basis
Q: What is your opinion of Heath as a competitor?
Huffman: He is a good competitor. The last few seasons have been good for him. He’s the type of guy who always finishes the races and stays consistent and injury free. In the long run, he is always there at the end. I have had a lot of good races with Heath and it will be exciting down to the end. We are neck and neck, but I have some motivation to stay on top when the season ends
