Team USA won the event, claiming a historical 16th win (they equal the Great Britain record) with Ricky Carmichael, Kevin Windham and Ivan Tedesco. Ricky had a perfect day and won his two races, leading early the pack and showing the way to his team-mates. Ivan Tedesco dominate the MX2 class during the MX2-MX1 race, but collided with Sébastien Tortelli in the following heat and finished only seventeenth. Kevin Windham crashed twice in his first race but got a fifth position, and later secured the US overall win with a third place behind Carmichael and Ben Townley.
Favourite of the crowd, the French team got the second position. Struggling in the last GP’s Mickael Pichon achieved a great performance; third in the opening race behind Carmichael and Coppins, he was battling with Windham in the last moto when he crashed heavily in the last lap. With a fifth place he secured the second spot, as David Vuillemin did two strong races (2nd and 7th) and Sébastien assured a seventh place in the MX1-MX2 heat.
Third position went to the Belgian team, who was always behind USA and France in the standings. Stefan Everts struggled with bad starts but claimed a thirteenth overall podium with his national team! Steve Ramon got the best individual result for the team with a third position on his 250, while Kevin Strijbos scored two top ten results.
New Zealand lost the podium by a single point. Ben Townley ended second in the individual classification behind Carmichael, with a victory and a second position. Josh Coppins finished twice in the top four, but Cody Cooper who was racing his first MXoN couldn’t do better than 23rd in each moto. Tanel Leok and David Philippaerts (4th in one race) as well as Marc De Reuver (6th and 8th for his first International race on a 450) got good results but none of their team was able to finish among the top five.
