Suzuki´s double world motocross champion Mickael Pichon is due to undergo an operation to remove an infected appendix today, Friday 14th February.
Pichon had been training in California for the past three weeks, but was suffering increasing discomfort. A local hospital confirmed that he had an appendix infection and Pichon chose to return home to France for the operation. The 26 year old had attempted one of the THQ WSX GP rounds held at Anaheim two weeks ago and could not complete the main event after sustaining a broken brake lever. He had designs on also competing at the next round in San Diego but decided the risk, while not fully fit, was unjustifiable.
The team´s test programme is continuing in Europe with Kevin Strijbos and Pichon is expected to re-join the tests on February 28th.
