« JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha will finish the Supercross series with Josh Summey. The team is adding a second rider to contest the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Series starting in May.
So it turns out that this weeks rumor that the Joe Gibbs team was looking for a third rider was slightly wrong, it’s actually a second rider they will be looking for. The collective sport of motocross can all say thanks to the Joe Gibbs outfit for cutting Hansen. It’s one thing for young Hansen to borrow the « Holeshot » nickname from his famously over-achieving & hard working father Donnie and put out a similar effort. However, it’s altogether something different to exploit the « Holeshot Hansen » legacy just to shame it with sub-par effort and performance. Finally a team that will hold their under-performing riders responsible for their results, or lack there of. Really, does this news item come as any surprise? The pits have been rife with stories about Josh, who despite some real talent, has consistently shown greater dedication to the rockstar lifestyle – a lifestyle that has consumed more than a few promising careers over the years.
So now there is room for another promising racer to grab the brass ring and show the world what he can do. If Hansen is serious about being a racer, he should follow in Donnie Schmidt’s footsteps and go buy his own bike and drive to the races to earn his place among the factory set. If not, let him disappear and be the forgettable footnote in the MX history books that so many have long predicted. »

7 décembre 2015 à 18h51 #1498675COMMENT T’AS FAIT ???
Grrrrrrr…

American Supercross star Josh Hansen, is to race in the British Arenacross series which kicks off in Manchester on January 2. It’s the first time a major US star has decided not to race the AMA series in favour of the fast-growing British championship.
Hansen, the son of former US champion Donnie Hansen, will ride a Kawasaki KXF450 for the LPE team and said: “I’m pumped at the prospect of a new challenge and at competing in the UK. I know the guys back home just won’t get it and that will drive me on even more. I see the Arenacross series as going places and I want to be a part of that. I reckon that after this, the gates will open and the British series will be flooded with Americans! »
The 31-year-old Hansen will contest the full 11-round series and will face competition form likes of former US Suprercross champ Mike Brown who will ride a Husqvarna for a team run by MOTO magazine’s test ace Dave Willet.
