Travis Pastrana is injured again
Racer X just received the unfortunate and truly hard-to-believe news that Team SoBe Suzuki’s star-crossed rider Travis Pastrana will miss the next two months (at least) after injuring his shoulder in a training accident. In what has to be the most bizarre injury in recent memory, Travis dislocated his shoulder in a swimming pool when he made the turn doing laps and slammed his arm down on the concrete ledge of the pool.
« He might do the last couple of supercross races, but he’s not sure, » said his mother, Debbie. « To tell you the truth, his knee was so bad – it’s just a mess – that we weren’t sure he was going to be able to race anymore anyway. »
Even by Travis standards, this injury is bizarre. It ranks up/down there with Jeremy McGrath cutting his heel on a piece of broken glass at Pepe’s Restaurant back in August of 1996, or Mike Craig twisting his knee on a boot lying on the floor of his hotel room before the 1994 Gainesville National, or even Bob Hannah breaking his leg on the rocks at Lake Havasu while water-skiing behind a boat driven by Marty Tripes.
