Je me disai bien, l’an dernier Coppins avait enchainé un bon retour au GP de France puis c’était bien imposé en Allemagne…

Esperons que N Aubin n’aura pas la meme déconvenue que l’an dernier 🙁

TEKA SUZUKI READY FOR GERMAN MX1 18/6/2009

Team Suzuki Press Office – June 18.

The Grand Prix of Germany at the Talkessel circuit in Teutschenthal and the ninth round of 15 in the 2009 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship provides the next appointment in the racing calendar of the Teka Suzuki World MX1 team.

The trip south-west of Berlin and close to the city of Halle is an important one for the Belgian crew thanks to the Teutonic roots of their principal sponsor.

Ken De Dycker, who was so close to his fourth podium result of the season two weeks ago in France before a broken foot-peg forced his retirement, goes into the meeting chasing his first silverware since round five and the GP of Portugal. On that occasion the 24 year old finished runner-up after winning the Beervelde round of the Belgian Championship the weekend prior and this time De Dycker is hoping the trend will continue after he claimed overall spoils at Kester last Sunday.

"I am hoping for the same effect, and at this stage of the season it will be important because it is possible to lose or win a lot of points in just three weeks," said De Dycker who leads the Belgian standings by 13 points and is currently sixth in the MX1 World Championship table. "We will have to be consistent and I hope my bad luck will have vanished in Germany."

Talkessel is one of the circuits that augment the World Championship’s character and distinction. Its submerged undulations is formed by a dark, hard soil and the pace of the layout, that boasts numerous off-camber turns and steep up-hills and descents, can be relentless until the surface gets bumpy and rutted by Sunday afternoon. In recent years a soft sandy section was added to offer a slightly different test. The downhill drop that forms the first corner is always particularly tricky and with the emergence of several fast German riders in the last few seasons the crowd has expanded to give the event a busy and bustling atmosphere.

"The track is quite old style in some ways but there are quite a few jumps," says De Dycker who finished second in 2008, his first time around the course with the RM-Z 450. "Usually I don’t like the place on Saturday because it is so fast and there are no ruts or bumps, but after some watering then normally it is better for Sunday."

The team will head for the first time to Kegums in Latvia the week after Germany and then continue an intense trek through northern Europe with the Grand Prix of Sweden at Uddevalla following directly on. With a three week break then taking place in July there is hope that Steve Ramon will be fully recovered and in training ready for a racing return at the squad’s home event at Lommel on August 2nd.

The weather forecast for the weekend predicts bright but cloudy conditions with the chance of showers on Saturday.
