STEFAN EVERTS: “THE WORST IS PASSED”

The 10-time World Champion gave a general picture of his state of health, saying he was happy for some things and less for others.

“The worst has passed and I hope I have reached the final stage of recovery. Since the beginning of the year the situation has improved. Foot pain has decreased, but that area remains the biggest problem. In these days I will have to undergo a new operation to stimulate the complete recovery process. I feel I have slowed down, I can’t fly or walk quickly because that causes me too much pain. At the moment I am a little unhappy because of the various heel problems. When I am completely restored I will ask to adapt some boots in order to get back on the bike. I no longer make plans like at the beginning of the disease because I know it is useless. I will still have to be very patient. “
