L’article de racerxill:
« World Cup of Motocross does not have AMA sanction
Here is a press release from the AMA:
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has learned that the World Cup of Motocross, scheduled for this weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, is being announced and reported as an AMA-sanctioned event.
Although the event’s promoter applied for AMA-sanctioned status, the AMA, as the sole U.S. affiliate of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), is prohibited from sanctioning the World Cup of Motocross this weekend without the FIM’s direct involvement.
The AMA admires the enthusiasm of the organizers, competitors, and motocross fans who have assembled this event on such short notice — a testament to the rich heritage and bright future of motocross in the U.S. , but direct involvement in the event by the AMA could limit the Association’s efforts to pursue related issues with the FIM and its contract partners which contributed to the cancellation of the Motocross des Nations at Competition Park. »
