Searle: “The backmarkers held me up which is the only reason he was able to catch me again. He passed me once – dirty – and then I got him back so-cleanly at the top of the hill; I had way-more of an opportunity to hit him or put him off the track but I did it cleanly. We came down to the double and he pushed me wide and off course. I got back in front and then he cleaned me out.”
Desalle: “There was a lot of fighting with Tommy in the second moto but this is racing. He showed that he wasn’t going to let me pass. He came close and I wanted to show that I am also there and if he wanted to do ‘that’ then I would also.”
Searle: “I don’t know why [he did it] because you cannot pass in that corner. He came away second and I leave with eleventh, so it worked out for him but it was a bit silly. Obviously it is disappointing when you ride well and stuff happens like that. It was a bit out of line what Desalle did, but it happened and we’ll move on to next weekend.”
Desalle: “They made the track like it is only one line so if you want to pass then you have to take more risks to overtake the guy in front and you can lose a lot of time. I did my best today and I am happy to be on the podium again.”
Searle: “In one way I’m happy because my riding is good. This is my first year in the championship and it is all about building. I think everyone can see my pace is getting where it needs to be. For me realistically the results don’t matter too much because I’m not going for a championship or a top three finish in the class. Whether I’m fucking fifth, sixth or seventh it makes no difference to me. I want to win championships…so this year is just about building.”
