En ce moment sur MTT, une discussion tourne au vinaigre. Cà arrive…plutôt intéressants pourtant les participants, et capable d’autre chose, mais ils s’abaissent à se répondre à l’infini, puis à un moment faute d’argument sur un sujet de fond, ils se débinent l’un et l’autre.. voire il y en a plusieurs qui s’y mettent…

Et il n’y a plus rien à en tirer…

L’un d’entre eux a pourtant cette fois fourni un lien intéressant sur la définition de "ad home attack" (que je ne connaissais pas avant, mais çà me semble pile-poil correspondre à un problème récurrent ici)…ou plutôt, je ne savais pas mettre un mot à une situation qui m’indisposait quad je la voyais arriver…  :

Many veterans of message board flame wars consider any personal attacks against a poster to be ad hom in nature. The forum can become a platform for an escalating series of vicious and personal attacks. Attempts to enforce the rules against ad hom attacks often fail to restore order during a flame war. Only after the main participants have exhausted themselves can the message board return to a semblance of order. This is why many administrators and moderators of message boards remove posts at the first sign of an ad hom attack.

One of the main dangers of an ad hom attack is the damage it can cause to a participant’s credibility or reputation. Unless an administrator or moderator removes inflammatory ad hom threads promptly, the accusations against a member’s personal character can be read by other members. In some cases, the information used in an ad hom attack can have serious real world repercussions. An ad hom attack is often launched by a cyberbully, or an Internet ‘troll’ who enjoys the attention such ad hom attacks generate.

Other people who make an ad hom attack may be seeking personal retaliation against a specific participant, which means they could use private information as part of the attack. In any case, it is always best to avoid online discussions containing ad hom attacks, since they have a tendency to escalate quickly. If you find yourself the victim of an ad hom attack, you have the right to demand action against the offender and to have any posts containing personal information removed from public view"

Effectivement MX2k ne fait pas exception à la règle. On se demanderait d’ailleurs pourquoi.

Je trouve que c’est  une technique de plus en plus utilisée ces derniers temps pour pourir un post ou ses intervenants quand l’intéressé manque soit à la fois d’argument et de savoir vivre soit est suffisemment intelligent pour l’utiliser comme technique destinée à lui donner toujours le fin mot.

Ce qui est dommage, c’est ces  "ad hom attacks" ne sont  le fait que d’une petite minorité mais suffisent à pourrir pas mal de post intéressants au départ.

bah ouai mais c’est ce qu’on appelle la liberté d’expression, même si des fois tu trouves à peine plus d’expression dans le post ou la réponse d’un forumeur que dans les yeux d’une poule

Tu as tout compris : le "ad hom attack ", c’est attaquer par exemple  le QI d’un forumeur plutôt que de traiter le topic  😉
