Bonjour a tous.

Je sait qu’il y a déjà un topic concernant la disparition de Joël ROBERT, mais j’ouvre celui ci pour rendre hommage a la légende du Motocross. 

J’invite tout ceux qui ont des vidéo ou des annecdotes sur Joël a venir les partager ici, en mémoire du grand pilote et du grand homme qu’il était.

OK, pourquoi pas, bonne idée… Parce que la seule fois où j’ai rencontré Joël Robert valait le détour. C’était à Genk, en 2001, je commençais ma carrière chez Moto Crampons en accompagnant Carlo Bagalini, et peu après notre arrivée dans le paddock Carlo s’est mis à taper 5 mn de discute avec Roger De Coster, Eric Geboers, Georges Jobé et donc Joël Robert. Je ne me souviens absolument pas de quoi ça a parlé, juste que j’étais obligé de me pincer pour croire à ce qui m’arrivait. Voilà, c’est tout.

Un souvenir partagé par le regretté Jim POmeroy il y a quelques années :

Oh yeah!  Always after the racing was over though.  I never partied before.  I heard a lot of stories about him and DeCoster and Sylvain Geobers always partying before races, but I never did that.  One story that I remember after the races were over was when we were in Finland in 1973.  We were coming out of the trophy awards and my Spanish mechanic Rubio and American mechanic Arty Beamon were talking, and Marcel Wurtz said “See that Volkswagen over there, Joel Robert can lift that up.”  I said “No way!”  My mechanics and I made a bet with Joel to see who could lift the car.  I tried lifting it and could barely get the springs to lift.  Then Arty and me tried it.  Then Arty, Rubio and me tried it, and we couldn’t get the back wheels off the ground of the Volkswagen Bug.  I watched Joel Robert come over and just grab it and lift the whole wheels off the ground and set it down all by himself.  That’s how strong he was.  He never trained, never worked out.  How he did it was beyond me.  It was just amazing.

Je sait qu’aujourd’hui c’est compliqué pour lui ,pour d’évidentes raison concurrentielles, mais j’aimerais bien que dirt-d vienne nous raconter quelques une de ses anecdotes croustillantes, qui ne doivent pas manquer, avec Joël :-)))

Je connaissais la géométrie variable à la colonne de direction, mais au cadre… et en cross, apparemment ça fait des plombes que ça existe… ;-)))
