C’est clair que c’est pas tout à fait les mêmes réponses “politiquement correctes” que d’habitude…
Jugez vous-même, y’a 2 ou 3 “trucs” qui dépotent…
“realmx: You always wanted to go to the USA for racing?
CP: I definitely have to race in the USA in the future. I want to be there.
realmx: What can you say about your certain plans for the future?
Christophe Pourcel: I recently made the decision to race the MX2 GPs one more time in 2007. Kawasaki offered me a great deal for three more years. I think that the transition from Europe to the US will be easier with one season mixed and then two years with team Pro Circuit Kawasaki in the US. This choice was the best for all of us that is me, my parents, my team GPKR and Kawasaki.
Of course I look first to my personal interests but I also thought to my parents who supported me since the beginning when I did my final choice. We’ll have this winter and next year time to get used to the US way of life, even if it wouldn’t have been a problem for me to go full time there after the next Motocross of Nations. I always raced with Kawasaki and I’m glad to continue with them, I think that’s really good for both of us and I want to thank Kawasaki Motors Europe, Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan and Kawasaki USA for their efforts,”
realmx: What races did you do in the past in the USA and how did you like it there?
CP: I was only at Loretta Lynns in 2002 and did the Las Vegas SX in 2003 on the 85 to get an experience about the USA. As long as it is Motocross with racing and training I can go anywhere. That is no problem for me.
realmx: What is you normal schedule in the week during the season?
CP: Mainly I do physical training like running and on the bicycle. I might go riding MX one time a week but sometimes no riding between the races.
realmx: What is the plan for next winter when you go the US, will you train the US way that means being on the bike all day long as many of the other riders do there?
CP: No, I will have my own schedule and will keep doing my own thing.
realmx: Since when do you race MX as a professional rider?
CP: I finished school when I was 13 years old. I am a professional racer since then.
realmx: You are leading the world championship at the moment; are you doing anything different now than last year or in the beginning of this year?
CP: No, it is still the same for me. I do not think about the title and go out there to have some fun as it was before. I only look from race to race and try to enjoy it.
realmx: If you will be World Champion will you do anything special?
CP: No, right now I do not even think about it so no plans for the case of winning the title.
realmx: You mentioned you have problems with the suspension within the last couple of races?
CP: Yes, I had some problems at Namur. During the race day we try different settings. If there is a big problem we go testing during the week but normally we find our settings at the weekend.
realmx: What kind of support do you have for the engines; do they work ok compared to the competition so far?
CP: We have full factory support from Kawasaki. We are the first team for MX2 as the Jan de Groot`s team is for MX1. We have a lot of special parts and I am really happy with the engine. It is very competitive.
realmx: Last year the team was run by Christian Bayle (brother of Jean Michele). Is there a big difference comparing to this year when the team is run by your father Roger and Patrick Gelade?
CP: It is some much better regarding the organisation and everything. You can’t compare. It was like a “Bordel” last year.
realmx: You raced all your life together with your older brother Sebastien. In the future this might change when you race somewhere else than him. Does that make any difference for you?
CP: No, it`s finished then and so it is.
realmx: It looks like there are some similarities between you and Jean Michel Bayle. I might call it the South France style with being very relaxed all the time training maybe not as hard as other riders. Do you have a look at that aspect too, did you follow his career?
CP: I don’t care. I do everything by myself and have my own career and plans. I can’t say anything about JMB and the way he did.
realmx: Who is helping you regarding making contracts and decisions?
CP: I can not say anything about that.”
;-)))
Such as???
Genre: ” JMB???
